What is branding? Is it that logo and badge you wear and carry?

As opined by Walter Landor, Founder of Landor “Products are made in a factory but brands are created in the mind”

In both the personal and corporate space, the above questions consciously and unconsciously come to us. We all work at making those impressions that will endear us to people in the bid to profit from it somehow. Perception is golden within the communication and branding space, and it has overwhelming power in expressing your thoughts in your speaking, reacting, and promoting your content in a sense.

One can safely say that this is a combination of 'the what and why' of one's doing and becoming, a vehicle that warehouses and carries the promise of quality with the intention of no disappointments.

In this episode of the Word Café, our focus will be on Communication and Branding, the personal story of Perez Tigidam.

Perez Tigidam is a Brand & Communications Strategy Professional. He is one of Nigeria's leading communications and brand growth strategists. Currently, he leads the strategy and planning team at Arden & Newton, a pan Africa-focused integrated brand Communications Company. As a lead strategist, he has been responsible for some of Nigeria's most significant corporate transformation and rebranding projects for companies in the Oil & Gas, Financial services, and public sectors.

His unique approach to communications through cutting-edge story-crafting and sticky narratives has made him a highly sought-after brand transformation strategist for projects involving mergers & acquisitions of publicly listed companies and legacy brands in Nigeria. He's also been the communications consultant for some of the country's prominent corporate rebranding exercises.

His in-depth understanding of the media landscape in Africa has also helped him evolve as a reputation management specialist with a portfolio of experience working with global organizations and corporate executives across Africa to help build, position, and manage their reputation.

In 2017, he founded the Africa Business Meetings, a platform for executive-level conferences in Africa. The ABM brings business executives from around the continent to converge on new thinking, best practices, and growth for the continent with conferences hosted in several countries across Africa. He has hosted or partnered with conferences across Nigeria, Rwanda, Kenya, Egypt, and Ethiopia.

He is a team player, thought leader, and digital-first creative—a unique addition to every team and an Africa-first business strategist.
