Paul Adefarasin, a charismatic leader, mentor, life coach, author philanthropist and senior pastor of House on the Rock Nigeria, was awarded the Forbes Best of Africa Most Influential Personality of the Year, 2021 award at the Foreign Investment Network (FIN) Leadership and Philanthropy Roundtable Discussion and Forbes Best of Africa Award event held on August 6, 2021. The annual Forbes Best of Africa award ceremony was conducted in collaboration with Foreign Investment Network (FIN), it was graced by a multitude of distinguished guests.

The event is normally held in New York but due to the pandemic, this event was virtual. The FIN – Forbes Best of Africa Award, which is known to be one of the most prestigious award ceremonies that recognize and honor the exceptional personalities in the African continent, concluded recently. A reputed impartial panel of judges chose award recipients under business, political, leadership, and economic categories considering their immense contributions to the region's betterment. Paul Adefarasin was a proud recipient of one of the Forbes Best of Africa awards and the ceremony's keynote speaker.  Pastor Paul gave one of the best speeches in my opinion in his acceptance of the award in my opinion. It was not just in the eloquence, clarity and presentation, but the message he delivered. This was well captured by Steve Harris in an Instagram post ‘Watched it all. Your vast understanding of the issues at hand, your reticent acceptance of the honor, your clarion call of the certainty that one day, honorable men would inevitably become men of honor as epitomized by your nomination. Your vast understanding of global issues and economic development. You went toe to toe with them as a heavyweight pugilist, knocking down arguments, bobbing and weaving between seeming complicated issues, while landing a lethal combination of oratorical and intellectual power punches and yet, came out untouched, unscathed and inevitably victorious. You were definitely way above their weight class. You were as always, erudite, eloquent and ever the statesman. It was amazing to see the fluidity with which a “man of the cloth” could effortlessly wear the “cloth of a man”. We pray that someday, our local leaders will bring us as great pride as you have as we watch them interact on global stages. We’re honored to live in your life and times and I’m even more proud to say “that’s my Pastor’

This weekend on the Word Café Podcast, I will be discussing the Keynote speech with Tonka Poloamina and Nicholas Ojukwu Eke
