In discovering and fulfilling purpose, having direction is very useful. Having speed is good, but in my opinion, having direction is better. I look back to my elementary physics class when we were thought about some physical properties like speed, velocity, acceleration, and momentum.

Speed: Speed is a scalar quantity that refers to "how fast an object is moving." Speed can be thought of as the rate at which an object covers distance. A fast-moving object has a high speed and covers a relatively large distance in a short amount of time.

Velocity: Velocity is a vector quantity that refers to "the rate at which an object changes its position.

Acceleration: Acceleration is a vector quantity that is defined as the rate at which an object changes its velocity.

Cleary from the definitions above, we see that what differentiates the physical properties from one and another is direction.

Having the knowledge of where one is going is very good, but knowing how to get there is better because when a direction is properly defined, energy is optimized and the profit is obvious.

Having knowledge of this does not come in emptiness, rather it is revealed in the connections we make with God and the relationship established in fellowship.

As summarized in this verse of scriptures, ‘The toil of a fool wearies him, for he does not know the way to the city.’ Ecclesiastes 10:15. Clearly, we see here that what separates the wise from the otherwise, is knowing the way to the city. Direction helps your focus, it channels your energy correctly and there is an efficient and effective appropriation of your resources in building that future of your dreams.

Our direction also reveals our attention. That thing that pre-occupies us and somehow has gotten our attention, the center of our being and we are paying for it.

IN this 55th episode of The Word Café Podcast, we will be talking about direction. As we walk into the year, 2022 and prepare our working tools, there is so much need for direction and coordination in order not to be wasteful and misappropriate our resources.
