Speaker 1:

Hello there, welcome to the World Cafe podcast. This podcast has been designed with created content that centers on the power of words. Can we really do anything without speaking? Can we really do anything without the agency of words? Yes, that is what this podcast is all about, and I am your host, amakri Isuboye, your neighborhood word trader. I believe in the power of words, for it is the unit of creation. I trade in words to profit my world.

Speaker 2:

Whoo Heights. Should I start with that word? All right, I need to say that Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, good, everything. Wherever you are on the surface of the earth watching me and listening to me, yep, yep, I'm on a bridge. I'm on a bridge. I just decided to come see the heights.

Speaker 2:

There's something about heights and you hear people always say it A good number of us. I'm afraid of heights, but at the same time, you want to go high in life. So why are you afraid of heights? You know, and why should you be afraid of heights? A good number of us, oh, I'm afraid of heights, and but you know, there's a level you get to. I call it an elevated view. You come to have this elevated view on a relative, I mean on view. You come to have this elevated view on a revelation, and I call it a revelation, like you are lifted on a height and you are having a good should I say view of things better. It's not just revelation, I call it a revelation, an elevated view. So what have I come to do today? Actually, I've come to share something that has been with me for a while, not bothering me now, but I need to share it. I need to get it out there, share it with my audience.

Speaker 2:

Our desire to go high in life, our desire to grow, is dependent on heights, but these heights are significantly influenced by knowledge. You know knowledge. What we know and I have come to see knowledge is I look at knowledge and I've done this definition before. I look at knowledge. I split the word know and edge. There is an L in between that brings everything together and you call that knowledge. You are aware, your awareness gives you an edge, but this edge can only come when you are on a constant learning cycle. That's the L. So, whatever you want to do, whoever you want to be, whatever it is, knowledge is key. But you know what? You must learn how to learn. You must learn how to learn.

Speaker 2:

We live in an age and a time where a lot is going on. You know transformation changes here and there. You are not open to learning. Stuck to what you know or what you knew years ago, you might run out of you know, you might just run amok or you lose out. There's something learning for me is sometimes all the learning you need is to remember. Yes, all the learning you need is to remember.

Speaker 2:

Now, growing up as a child, we come to have a lot of experiences. We create these memories. You know, we store them up in our memory bank, more or less, and sometimes all you have to do to go forward in life is to go back to those memories that you created, you know, years ago. And all of that Because these memories are like treasures and when you go back in time they open up to you.

Speaker 2:

I saw this movie, if, imaginary Friend, a nice movie. Ryan Reynolds, I think that's his name, the guy that the main character in the movie Ryan Reynolds, I think that's his name, the guy that the main character in the movie talked. You know, it was about a girl, her father, who was sick, but now she never knew. She had this amazing memories she had created and within these memories she had a lot of resource to draw strength from. And you know, go through those challenging moments, imaginary friend. So sometimes all you really need is to get in touch with that memory, yes, memory. Get in touch with the memory and you begin to like, relate with yourself and those things begin to like open up to you. So going forward is like you're taking this thrust backwards, you know. You pull the arrow backwards and you release it and it goes very far. So you're going deep into the archives.

Speaker 2:

You know the generation we live in today. Also, a lot of children are robbed of the opportunity of creating memories. You know, they rarely go out there to play, to engage, touch the sun or the sun touching them, the sand, the vegetation. But again, we need to expose them. Now let me take the conversation to another level.

Speaker 2:

Recently, almost all the Marvel movies, dc movies, animations and all that, almost all the directors, producers, are from the generation of those children who related with these materials as a child growing up. Yep, they related with these materials. So at this point, all of the movies they are making is from their memory bank. They go back to the memory bank and they learn from it. Okay, this was what happened when I read that material, that comic, that text or something, and it came alive. You know those days that you cover yourself with your blanket, with the light, you know like you're playing pirates and what have you? You're playing cowboy and Indian. You're playing All of it. Yes, so they are the ones now producing these movies.

Speaker 2:

If you remember Bruce Willis' what's the name of that movie? Again, die Hard, die Hard. I think Die Hard 3 or Die Hard 4. I think it was 3. The director saw Die Hard 1 as a child and he loved the action, action, the sequence and everything. So when it was time for him to, you know, step into that space, he directed bruce willis. You can imagine, maybe, when that, when bruce willis did die, had one. Maybe he was in his uh 40s, there about, or 30, or late 30s, and that guy may have been maybe 10 years or something.

Speaker 2:

So you understand that, going forward, learning, having this knowledge, you have to embrace your memories, you have to get in touch with your memories. There's so much we can learn from our memories. That's why the human brain, the way it is designed, you know, structure the architecture of our minds. We have a place where memories are stored and they are very, very powerful. Memories are powerful. So all you need to do To you understand, learn, is to remember. Just to remember, yes, just to remember those good times. Remember those amazing, amazing, amazing times In the park, at the beach, in school, in that math class, the English class, the language class. You remember how you solved those problems. That may be all you need for this phase to create. So, going forward again. You create wonderful memories. That may be all you need for this phase to create. So, going forward again, you create wonderful memories, beautiful memories you know, so that the future that you are walking into, as you're getting there, you play back those memories again and you learn, you become aware it gives you that edge.

Speaker 2:

Alright, guys, that's what I came to do today. I love this bridge, do you love it? I do Very much the ambience. So, going higher, it's all about knowledge, and for you to be knowledgeable it's all about knowledge and for you to be knowledgeable it's all about learning and the learning you need. It's all about remembering. Can you do that? It's always fun coming into this space to share moments like this with you. All right, then, you know how we say it on the show Till I come your way again. Bye for now.
