The Word Café Podcast with Amax
My unique message to the world is the power behind the words of our mouths. We have made light of it but cannot escape the fruits thereof. For me, words are the unit of creation, the building block on which our existence evolves. This podcast is for everyone who wants to better their living by using words and applying themselves wisely. I will be using the storytelling style fused with imaginative nuances to transport the listener to that place, where possibilities are not luxuries but everyday experiences; movie in voice.
This podcast will emphasize the power of routine, and what you repeatedly do, you most likely build capacity and expertise for what you repeatedly do. My podcast will help the listener learn how to practice success because the same amount of time you use in complaining is the same you can use to plant, build, prune, etc. I intend to draw the listener's attention to the power of their words.

S4 Ep. 230 Soul Hymns & Holy Vibes: The Secret Behind My Creative Process
Sound has a remarkable ability to transform our reality, and for four years on The Word Cafe podcast, I've been drawing inspiration from my personal archives of worship songs and spiritual melodies. This celebration episode opens the door to my creative process, revealing how these timeless songs have shaped my faith journey and continue to fuel my podcasting adventure.
I believe wholeheartedly that divine manifestation is preceded by sound. When my mother sang prayers over me during childhood illness, those melodies created sanctuaries of hope that still echo decades later. Morning devotions with family weren't just routines—they were portals to experiencing God's presence through songs like "How Excellent Is Your Name." During academic disappointments in secondary school, Jimmy Swaggart's "El Shaddai" reminded me that God remains unchanged across generations.
Nigeria's rich contribution to worship music has profoundly influenced my spiritual expression. From Pastor Chris Oyakhilome's thanksgiving anthems to vibrant Pidgin worship declaring "Na Hemo" (It is Him who makes life better), these cultural expressions transform everyday challenges into opportunities for divine encounter. The "Miracle of Damman" football story perfectly illustrates how a simple song declaration—"He's a miracle-working God"—literally changed circumstances as Nigeria overcame a four-goal deficit against Russia.
These musical archives have become my secret weapon before recording podcast episodes, positioning my heart and mind for inspiration. For millennials and Gen Z listeners especially, these archives hold wisdom and power that transcends generations. As we celebrate four years of The Word Cafe, I'm grateful for this space where we lean on one another's experiences to forge positive paths forward. The, the, the, the, hi there. Okay, yes, we're looking different today, aren't we? But before we go into anything, I have to say those words Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, good, everything. Yes, I'm excited, even though my excitement is a little bit melancholic, and I'll tell you why. It's been an amazing season, yes, first of all, how are you? I must ask those you know it's not rhetoric now, but very, very true how are you? One of the reasons why we are here is because of you.
Speaker 1:So today, on the show, I'm going to be doing something. I titled this the Archives. Yes, I'm walking into the Archives. Today it's four years. Yes, one, two, three, four of the Word Cafe podcast. We've been doing this, by the special grace and mercies of God, for four years. We've been doing this for four years, okay, for four years, okay.
Speaker 1:And I thought of bringing you into some of my secrets, yep, how I do what I do by His grace. And let me tell you I always, when I have this kind of conversations with my wife, I always tell her I live in my head, I'm big on imagination, my imagination quotient. I say I keep pushing it every day and somehow memories have been created and sometimes we just want to do new stuff, but this is how I see it. Go back into your memory, yes, the archives. You'll be so amazed. Ah, things you will find. Sometimes, all the learning you need is just to remember. And I've had an amazing, amazing childhood, created a lot of memories and sometimes not sometimes all the time when I want to solve problems, I just go into my archive. I grew up with sound music, chattering, people talking. I remember sharing with you and I'm going to say it again, you know, in this episode, Growing up for me was challenging. Yeah, so one of those incidents very early in my life, be rest assured, this episode is about giving thanks to God, appreciating Him. But, like I said, I'm going to take you into my sickness. So I remember one of those days when my mom was massaging my leg and I've told you that story before the incident and all of that. And I remember in pain. You know when she's massaging and I remember this song as a child it's like calling on God and calling him Be present now In our prayers, oh, oh, lord. And we pray that now, lord, we pray, yes, oh. Be present now in our prayers, oh, lord, my Lord. Be present now, lord, we pray. So I sing this song because, as she's working, she's praying, you know, like talking to God about her son, heal him, heal him. I still remember it. So each time I face challenges, it echoes, it echoes. I go into my archive and I see, practically I see those moments and I try to leave them again. So, yes, now, be present now in our prayers, oh Lord, and be present now. Oh, we pray.
Speaker 1:There's something about music, there's something about sound. It has the power to create matter like sound, and I believe it strongly within my being that for divinity to appear, sound precedes him. Amazing and beautiful sound, and we learn a lot from sound. Yeah, so morning devotion, one of those, yes, I'll share with you Growing up, another moment of what I say encounter is mourning devotion, when we sit together, you know, and we have mama talking to us, we have dad talking to us.
Speaker 1:Those were moments we also sang, shared some amazing songs, some hymns. So let me let you in on this one. I don't know if you remember it. Yes, Excellently, be to me Glory or no. To you I bring. You are worthy of all my praise All power, all knowledge, all wisdom that I found the new I said you are my God, you are my king. How excellent is your name. And when it goes on and on that way, you just have the sweetness yes, come. It helped our learning, it helped our understanding, our learning. It helped our understanding. It helped our experiencing of God, his goodness. I remember this aspect.
Speaker 1:You know, I grew up in the days when Benin those of us who follow him, you know, yeah, benny Eam the influence of Catherine Coleman. I remember, back in secondary school, when we all gathered, we listened to Catherine Coleman as a result of Benny Eam sharing these experiences. But there's this sound she releases all the time. It's a known one Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah and hallelujah. Oh, yes, we cry. Hallelujah, lord, we bless you, we give you all. And Lord, we bless you, and Lord, we bless you. Amazing Father and Lord, we bless you, and Lord, we bless you, we bless you. This particular sound, I still remember it, as in each time we gather myself, my friends, and we worship and we raise this sound to heaven again and again and again and again. Ah, such a beautiful moment. And in our teenage, we come to see him move. Yes, we come to see him move. I remember this particular one.
Speaker 1:This was, I think in SS3. Challenging time. I remember then my results were not so good and I felt like, why do I go from here? What do I do? We used to listen to Jimmy Swaggart and the rest of them, you know, and there's this song. Each time I go back there I see his provision. I hold on to him, I'll share it with him, yes, and they'll shut up.
Speaker 1:El Shaddai, elohim and Adonai, age to age, you're still the same. And by the power of your name, el Shaddai, el Shaddai, elohim and Adonai, I will praise and lift you high. El Shaddai, you are. Oh, el Shaddai, who you are. Oh, el Shaddai, el Shaddai, elohim and Adonai, age to age, you're still the same. And by the power, age to age, you're still the same. And by the power, yes, of your name, oh, el Shaddai. El Shaddai, el Shaddai, elohim and Adonai says I will praise and lift you high. So I will praise and lift you high. You know it reminds us of his goodness. He never changes, he's the same yesterday, today and forever. And there's this other one Nigeria, as a country, has produced amazing sounds to heaven, pastor Chris, yes, chris, oyeahilomi, there's this particular one in Thanksgiving, thanksgiving.
Speaker 1:And each time I remember it I give thanks to God, remember it. I give thanks to God. He says one or two things, but I'm going to just give the chorus and no, I've missed the key. Praise, praise His name, and we will praise, praise, praise, oh Lord, for me to say, and we will pray. Yes, lord, praise my God, your name, and we will pray and we will praise you. Lord, praise heavenly Father, lord, your name. And when we get there, we just roll, bask in his presence, we just bask in his presence, we just bask there.
Speaker 1:These are songs that are timeless for me as an individual. Yes, timeless. And each time I am faced with challenges, I am faced with questions, I just go into my archive and I bring them out. Yes, lord, I bring them out. Yes, lord, I bring them out. There's this word, I think it's in Pidgin English. You know when I want to get myself excited in His presence and I want to get ideas Mm-hmm, na hemo, na hemo, we make my life better, naimo, we make my life better. He bought a maverick ink of sugar. My tears, no-transcript. I say In comes sugar night. Oh, now you know. Oh, god, jesus, he bought a labyrinth. In comes sugar night. He bought a labyrinth. In comes sugar night. You are the love of an income sugar bite. Naimo Naimo, naimo, naimo, naimo. Yes, these songs are eternal, they are forever.
Speaker 1:So why did I come to do this with you on the show today? Like I said, four years of podcasting. This has been one of my secrets. I do this behind the scenes, before I come on set. I spend time to worship, I spend time to call on Him, I spend time to pray. Na Him O Take Naino Sei, nain Naino Sei. I know, say so.
Speaker 1:Whatever it is you're going through, whatever it is, listen, there's a sound that makes all the difference. Yes, for millennials and the Gen Z's, the archives is for you. The archives is for you. The archives is for you. Yes, this is how I get myself in the mood, inspired, and I get in there. Yes, these songs never grow old. They never grow old, and each time I get in that place revelations yes, I mean inspiration it comes alive.
Speaker 1:Alright, I'm gonna do this one, I'm gonna do this one. God of miracles, god of miracles, god of miracles, god of miracles. I go call him Papa-o, now my Papa-o, now my Papa-o. I go call him original, now my Papa-o, namaipapao. I go call him original Namaipapao, the miracle Namaipapao. So let me tell you how I do this song.
Speaker 1:For those of us who grew up in the West and the South or the East, you know, when you see your mother or your daddy coming home, maybe from work or from the market, there's this thing you say Oyo-yo daddy, oyo-yo mommy, oyo-yo. So when I sing this song I get into that mood and I call him Na-ma-pa-pa-o daddy, oyo-yo, na-ma, not my papa. Oh Daddy, oh yo, yo, not my papa. Oh, daddy, oh yo, yo, not my papa. Oh Daddy, oh yo, yo, not my papa. Oh, god of miracles, now my Papa. I will call out every day now my Papa, god of miracles, now my Papa. Oh, oh, now my Papa, oh.
Speaker 1:Let me tell you something about this song. Like I said a while ago, nigeria has beautiful sounds. So in the history of Nigeria there's this thing called the miracle of Dama. When we had this football match in Saudi Arabia against Russia, nigeria was down by four goals. I think that was duringwhat's their name now? Mmmo'hehe, and the rest of them, Chris O'Hanning. We were down by four goals and the stadium became empty. People were leaving and they were so disappointed. But do you know what happened? The Nigerian fan club. The leader raised this song. That leader raised this song. That's how this song came about, in my opinion. And this is the song.
Speaker 1:Listen, he's a miracle walking God. He's a miracle walking God. He's the Alpha and Omega. He's a miracle working God. When that sound came up and kept rolling, do you know what happened? We scored one. The sound was going. We scored two, the sound was going. We scored three, the sound was going. We scored two. The sun was going. We scored three, the sun was going. We scored four. Those who left the stadium started rushing in what is happening. They said Nigeria has equalized. We gave Russia a good fight and we beat them, the Oleg brothers and the rest of them. We beat Russia. It's in the history books. He's a miracle-working God and he's the Alpha and Omega. He's a miracle-working God. That's what I came to do on the show today. A reminder to all of us.
Speaker 1:Yes, and before I go, this is one song. Yes, it's a Thanksgiving song. I always sing it. I heard it, I had this song, I think, when I was in primary four, and each time I want to thank him for answers to prayers.
Speaker 1:I raise it. The Lord has answered my prayers and I will sing praises to him and say and say amen, so beautiful, amen, so beautiful. I will thank Him. The Lord has answered my prayers. I will sing praises to Him and say and say amen, amen, and answer I will give Him all the praise. Oh, he's done me well. The Lord has answered my prayers and I will sing praises to Him and answer hey, and answer so beautiful, and I will give Him all. I will glorify, I will lift Him up and I will give Him all. I will lift Him up and I will give Him all the praise. The Lord has answered my prayers and I will sing praises to him and answer so beautiful answer, and I will give him all the praise. Oh yeah, so beautiful, I need you. So beautiful, so beautiful, so beautiful, so beautiful. All right, guys, I need to run.
Speaker 1:This is the highlight of our celebration of four years of podcasting the World Cafe Live Show. This is the space where we come in to lean on one another's experience to forge a positive path. Yes, this is what we came to do today on the show walking in the archives. There are so many songs. For the sake of time, maybe we are going to have this like series. You know archives. Yes, maybe I'll bring some of my friends who still remember these songs and we're going to sing them, because these songs are like capsules. They are holding, in my opinion, like the cupboard of God, the glory, and each time we open it, I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean, all right guys, go ahead.
Speaker 1:We are available on all the social media platforms Instagram, Facebook, tiktok, linkedin. Yes, on YouTube, we're there. Go ahead, Are you following us? Follow us. The Lord has answered my prayers and I will sing praises to him. Answer me and answer me. Amen, so beautiful an answer, amen, so beautiful. He's answered me. He will answer you as he answered me. He's answered me. I gotta go now till I come here again. My name is Amakri. Amakri. Amakri is so good. Bye for now. I'm sorry.
